DIRECTIONS: Take 2 to 4 tablets daily or as directed Thiamine (B1): Necessary for adrenal gland function, proper immune system performance and the synthesis of neurotransmitters. It plays a role in the metabolism of food and alcohol. Symptoms of deficiency can include poor memory, fatigue, muscle weakness.
Requirements increase in those whose diets are high in refined carbohydrates, sugar and alcohol.
Riboflavin (B2): Necessary for energy production and oxygen utilization. Needed for the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats; a study by the Australian Bureau of Statistics found 38% of females were not receiving the RDI.The symptoms of low levels include fatigue, anaemia.
Nicotinamide: Niacin helps in the release of energy and in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Whilst is does have many other uses it is this which is of most benefit in FAB.
Deficiency can cause depression and mental disturbance as well as the more likely pellagra which is sunburn like eruptions when exposed to the sun.
Pantothenate (B5): Essential for human growth reproduction and many normal body functions. It is involved in many metabolic pathways including energy metabolism of carbohydrates proteins and lipids and is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters and to make red blood cells.
Pyridoxine (B6): Pyridoxine is involved in more bodily functions than any other single nutrient. It promotes red blood cell formation, is needed for normal brain function and synthesis of nucleic acids RNA and DNA. It activates many other enzymes and aids in the absorption of vitamin B12 which is needed in immune system function and antibody production. Necessary for the metabolism of amino and plays a role in the use of fats and in the production of bile.
Cyanocobalamin
(B12): Cyanocobalamin is needed to prevent anaemia. It aids folic acid regulating the formation of red blood cells. It helps in the utilisation of iron, aids cell formation and the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats, prevents nerve damage and promotes normal growth and development by maintaining the fatty sheaths that cover and protect nerve endings.
Vitamin B12 can often be lacking in the diets of vegetarians and over the longer term can lead to macrocytic anaemia. Useful for vegetarians especially during pregnancy and lactation where requirements increase.
Deficiency results in pernicious anaemia with ineffective production of red blood cells, possible loss of the lining of the intestines and ineffective nerve sheath production
Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C): This helps increase non heam iron absorption and it plays a role in the formation and maintenance of collagen.
Biotin Important for the maintenance of healthy hair, skin and nails.
Iron: Recent research is showing that low iron can impair cognitive ability i.e. poor recognition of events and problem solving as well as lower IQ for younger females; impair athletic performance and endurance; lesson stamina; create tiredness and feelings of lassitude
